DynaCirc, a type of medication called a calcium channel blocker, isprescribed for the treatment of high blood pressure.It is effective when used alone or with a thiazide-type diuretic to flushexcess water from the body.Calcium channel blockers ease the workload ofthe heart by slowing down the passage of nerve impulses through the heart muscle,thereby slowing the beat. This improves blood flowthrough the heart and throughout the body and reduces blood pressure.A controlled-release version of this drug (DynaCirc CR) maintains lowerblood pressure for 24 hours. |
