Felbatol, a relatively new epilepsy medication, is usedalone or with other drugs to treatpartial seizures with or without generalization (seizures in whichconsciousness may be retained or lost). It is also usedwith other medications to treat seizures associated with Lennox-Gastautsyndrome (a childhood condition characterized bybrief loss of awareness and muscle tone).
Felbatol is prescribed only when other medications have failed tocontrol severe cases of epilepsy. |
