- Description - |
Imodium is prescribed for the control and relief of symptoms of diarrhea notknown to be caused by a specific germ, and for diarrhea associated withlong-term inflammatory bowel disease. This drug is also prescribed forreducing the volume of discharge from an ileostomy (a surgical opening of thesmall intestine onto the abdominal wall for purposes of elimination).
Some doctors also prescribe Imodium, along with antibioticssuch as Septra or Bactrim, to treat traveler's diarrhea. |
