Zithromax

- Description -
Zithromax is an antibiotic related to erythromycin. It isprescribedfor adults to treat certain mild to moderate skin infections; upperandlower respiratory tract infections, including pharyngitis (strepthroat),tonsillitis, and pneumonia; sexually transmitted infections of thecervixor urinary tract; and genital ulcer disease in men.In children, Zithromax is used to treat middle ear infection,pneumonia,tonsillitis, and strep throat.

Abdominal pain,diarrhea or loose stools,nausea or vomiting
- Possible Interactions -
The following interactions can occur with erythromycin, a similardrug.
Carbamazepine (Tegretol)
Cyclosporine (Neoral and Sandimmune)
Digoxin (Lanoxin, Lanoxicaps)
Ergot-containing drugs such as Cafergot andD.H.E.
Hexobarbital
Lovastatin (Mevacor)
Phenytoin (Dilantin)
Theophylline drugs such as Bronkodyl, Slo-Phyllin, Theo-Dur, andothers
Triazolam (Halcion)
Warfarin (Coumadin)
