Zocor
- Description -
Zocor is a cholesterol-lowering drug. Your doctor may prescribeZocor in addition to a cholesterol-lowering diet if your bloodcholesterol level is too high, and if you have been unable to lowerit by diet alone.
In people with high cholesterol and heart disease, Zocor reducesthe risk of heart attack, stroke and "mini-stroke" (transient ischemicattack) and can stave off the need for bypass surgery or angioplastyto clear clogged arteries.
